Euro Carving2 in Moscow

10 days ago, I was in the sky on the way of return from Moscow.
I wen to Russia to get participated in "Euro Carving".

I've been making a vegetable carving since my master showed me how to do it (for 3 month).
It was 18 years ago.....
after that I've been learning vegetable carving by myself.

So I wanted to know how the people make a veggie carving in the world.
That is why I went to Moscow.

I took e a part of individual competition for 3days.
The theme for 3 days were...

 1st day      Haloween (homework)
2nd day      3D bird            (in 3 hours)
3rd  day    2water melon and 2 papayas. (in 3 hours)

for the 1st day,
I brought the pumpkin and potato which I carved during I was in Japan
because it needed to be done at first day and I didn't have time to carve them at there.

This is what I made...

I've made Matryoshka doll of the pumpkin which I can carry with no space! :)
I also made a house and witch.

As you know, I always try to leave the vegetable skins,
because it is a vegetable carving and I think that they should exist as
they are still form of vegetable.
I think that we should not treat vegetables like wood.
It is still food ,that is why I can't use bond .well It is just my style though...

But I think I may try new style for break through...

The winner of this day was Mr. Nick from taiwan. he did a great work!
Look at his tiny, fascinate job :)

As well as him, all works of the participant were splendid!!!
I learnd a lot of thing for these 3 days.

Second day...3D Bird.

I made  two cranes with a Daikon, pumpkin, egg plant and radish.

I also made a snowy scenery with Daikon and other vegetable.
I wanted to express two cranes which sang in praise of life
even in the cold winter.

It was surprized that They call this vegetable (white radish) as "daikon" in russia.
Last year I went to USA and they call it Daikon too.
Finally I realized Daikon is a worldwide word!!

3rd day.....two water melons and two papayas.
I studied Thai Carving by myself in 3 month
for this day.
but not enough time lol!

I made an Osaka Castle   (spring)

Eliana Pavlova (1899-1941)   (summer)
She was refuge in Japan from Russia and the
first Japanese ballet teacher opened.

Bridge  (autumn)
Between Japan and Russia !

I enjoyed those 3day so much!!!
Because there are wondeful people out there.

They are my Russian friends, Oleg and Evgenij!
